POTHOLES

How to Report

Potholes are the responsibility of Herts County Council (HCC) Highways departments. Report these and other highway issues to HCC. Click on the link below to report a pothole.

WHEN IS THE NEXT PARISH COUNCIL MEETING?

Can Anyone Attend?

Wareside Parish Council Meetings take place on the third Thursday of every month at Wareside Village Hall at 7.30pm. Anyone can attend and there is no need to register just turn up. If you wish to have something discussed you may wish to email wpcclerk@hotmail.co.uk so that  time is allocated within  the agenda

How To Report

Street Lights are the responsibility of the Highways department and should be reported to them directly using the following link

LOCAL PLANNING APPLICATIONS

Who decides and how do I make comment?

All local planning applications are made to East Herts District Council. Once the application has been processed it then is passed onto Wareside Parish Council (WPC) for comment. All applications are considered and a response is made with consideration of the local environ, community impact (noise, disruption, precident etc). To view applications online via the EHDC planning portal where plans etc can be accessed and public comment made click on the button below. A list of local planning applications here

WASTE COLLECTION

Brown Bins, Recycling, General Waste

Brown Bins are now charged for to be collected and emptied by EHDC council and are collected every two weeks. Recycling Bins are not charged for as the collection is included within your annual council tax. Both recycling bins and General Waste are collected fortnightly on a Tuesday.  If your waste is not collected or you need a replacement bin please contact EHDC, who can also facilitate a bulky collection of household items.

THE WARESIDER

How and When Do I get It?

Published quarterly - Spring (March), Summer (June), Autumn (September) and Winter (December). The publication is the distributed to local volunteers who then deliver it by hand to householders. If you don't receive your copy contact the Waresider team by clicking the button below.

VILLAGE HALL

How do I book?

Wareside Village Hall is independently run and is available to hire for private functions/meeting/events. To enquire about availability and rates please click on the link below.

PARKING

List Subtitle

Parking in the village extremely is limited unless using those the facilities where parking is permitted.  When visiting the village please have consideration for local residents and passing vehicles.

FLY TIPPING

How To Report

If you are unfortunate enough to discover fly tipping anywhere in the parish please report it by clicking the button below. Should you witness it happening you should call 999 and report it as a 'crime in progress'. All fly tipping should be reported to the local council

PLAYGROUND

How to report broken/damaged equipment

If you see a broken or damaged piece of equipment within the playground please report it immediately to Wareside Parish Clerk. Although the Playground has annual safety checks, it is checked on a regular basis. To report please send an email by clicking the link below or call/text 07740 465221

LITTLE OAK HEATH

Maintenance of Pathways

The pathways at Little Oak Heath are maintained throughout the year based on the growing season, so are not cut over the winter. However, from March/April they are cut 2 x per month and any over hanging growth is cut back. It should be noted that this is a heath and it is not a pristine parkand. Only pathways, trees, playground and pond are maintained. If you have any questions regarding Little Oak Heath please contact Wareside Parish Clerk, If you should witness  an illegal activity such as vandalism etc please report it directly to the Police.

FOOTBALL PITCH & PLAYGROUND

Maintenance

Both the football pitch and playground are regularly mown throughout the growing season. Litter is picked at the same time. The fencing around the playground is unfortunately frequently broken by local youths and every best effort is made to repair on the maintenance visits.  The waste bin located in this area is emptied by EHDC on a regular basis. ALLOTMENTS

How Do I Register For A Plot?

Allotment allocation is not the responsibility of the Parish Council but that of the Allotment Association. For more information please click on the link below.

DOG POO BAGS

Empty Dispensers

Complimentary Poo Bags are available throughout the village. If you spot an empty dispenser please contact us by clicking the link below and we will arrange for it to be refilled as soon as possible. When using the poo bags please dispose of it responsibly and keep our village tidy, thank you.

GRANTS

Is there any local funding for a local community project/initiative?
